[不定项选择题]共用题干 Help Your Child Become a Reader

Encouraging early reading skills can build a path to a lifelong(终身的)love of reading
and can help your child get a head start in school. While reading to your child is still the most
important thing you can do to build reading skills, there are many techniques that can help.
Make reading fun.Play games with your child as you read. Many traditional children's
games can be adapted to encourage reading skills.
While reading or during play, tell your child,"I spy with my little eye, something that
begins with the letter b."Help the child find something on the page or in the room that
begins with that letter. For example,"I see a barn."This can also be used to teach
beginning letter sounds."I spy with my little eye, something that begins with the sound
's'."Help the child find a word that begins with the"s"sound.
In this variation on the popular game, instruct the child that,"Simon says, 'point to
something that starts with the letter n."'The child can then find an object in the room or a
body part, such as the nose, that starts with the letter presented. This can also be used to
teach beginning sounds.
Make a game out of rhyming(押韵)words by making up silly words to rhyme with the
child's name or favorite toys. This sets the stage for rhyming real words by showing the
child the similarities of sounds. As the child masters making up the words, begin rhyming
real words to one another.
Tips to raise a successful reader:
Put books in places where the child plays. If books are easily accessible, children are
more likely to pick them up.
Let children"read to you"by looking at pictures.Making up stories to go along with
illustrations helps children discover how words relate to pictures.
Take books along on trips or even short visits to the doctor's office or grocery store.
Have children help you shop.Reading grocery lists and looking for specific items helps
build sight vocabulary. You should take books with you when you go out with your child.

[不定项选择题]共用题干 These Foods Help Improve Your Memory

Though sleeping is the best way to enhance your memory, the foods in your diet also play a role in how your memory works.People care their diets in terms of whether it helps them build muscle or lose fat,but they neglect to think of how food can improve memory.
In addition to eating memory foods, right meal amount plays an important role in how well your memory functions.Too little food will cause you to be distracted by hunger, while too much of it will make you sleepy.Incorporating the right memory foods and proper portion sizes will give you maximum results.
Here are some of the memory foods that you should incorporate into your diet to reap the benefits of memory enhancement.
Salmon
As far as the protein is concerned, one of the best sources is salmon, for it is a good source of
omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain function and development. Studies have suggested that supplementing with DHA,which is found in fish oil,is beneficial for the development and maintenance of memory performance.
Sunflower seeds
Nuts have been regarded as a great way to get healthy fats into your diet, but many people forget that seeds fall into this category too.Sunflower seeds are a rich source of vitamin E,with one ounce providing 30%of your total daily intake.Vitamin E is one of the primary antioxidants that helps decrease the decline of memory as you get old, making it one nutrient you'll want to be sure to consume.
Other sources of vitamin E include wheat germ oil,dry almond, safflower oil, hazelnut, peanut butter, spinach, broccoli, kiwi, and mango.
Blueberries
While all berries provide a number of health-related benefits, blueberries in particular area memory-boosting powerhouse. They are considered a memo汀food because they contain a phytochemical that is especially important in reversing the age-related decline of memory, while having a positive influence on spatial working memory.
Besides, blueberries rank low on the glycemic(血糖)index scale, making them a good fruit choice if you are trying to control your blood sugar level.
Lean beef
Including appropriate amount of lean beef in your diet is beneficial in enhancing your memory because of its iron content. While most men get enough iron in their diet, those who are on a strict diet and are sticking mostly to chicken, egg whites and fish as sources of protein may be running a bit low.
Iron deficiency can have a significant effect on brain function and impair learning abilities, eventually putting you at an increased risk for developing Alzheimer's disease. So,be sure you aren't cutting out good sources of iron from your diet一even if you,re striving for maximum fat loss. If you're striving for maximum fat loss, you'd better cut out good sources of iron from your diet.

Preventing Child Maltreatment

Child maltreatment is a global problem with serious life-long consequences. There are no reliable global
estimates for the prevalence of child maltreatment.Data for many countries, especially low and middle income
countries,are lacking.
Child maltreatment is complex and difficult to study.Current estimates vary widely depending on the
country and the method of research used.Nonetheless, international studies reveal that approximately 20% of
women and 5-10% of men report being sexually abused as children, while 25-50% of all children report
being physically abused.Additionally, many children are subject to emotional abuse(sometimes referred to as
psychological abuse).
Every year, there are an estimated 31 ,000 homicide deaths in children under 15.This number underestimates
the true extent of the problem,as a significant proportion of deaths due to child maltreatment are incorrectly
attributed to falls,bums and drowning.
Child maltreatment causes suffering to children and families and can have long-term consequences.
Maltreatment causes stress that is associated with disruption in early brain development. Extreme stress can
impair the development of the nervous and immune systems.Consequently,as adults, maltreated children are at
increased risk for behavioural, physical and mental health problems.Via the behavioural and mental health
consequences, maltreatment can contribute to heart disease, cancer, suicide, and sexually transmitted infections.
Beyond the health consequences of child maltreatment, there is an economic impact, including costs of
hospitalization,mental health treatment,child welfare,and longer-term health costs.
A number of risk factors for child maltreatment have been identified. These risk factors are not present
in all social and cultural contexts, but provide an overview when attempting to understand the causes of child
maltreatment.
It is important to emphasize that children are the victims and are never to blame for maltreatment. A
number of characteristics of an individual child may increase the likelihood of being maltreated, such as being
either under four years old or an adolescent, being unwanted,or failing to fulfill the expectations of parents
and having special needs, crying persistently or having abnormal physical features. The word"underestimates"in Paragraph 3 means__________.
A.exaggerates
B.points out
C.assumes
D.miscalculates
