"Yan! Yan!" Somebody was calling out my name. I blinked open my eyes, fumbled(摸索)around the table for the digital clock: 2 a.m. ! Not a sound was heard in the stillness of night. Gosh, must have been dreaming! I turned around and was about to slump back on bed when I heard my name called "Yan!" I was wide-awake then--it was my 73-year-old landlady! What could be wrong Hear pounding(砰砰地打), I jumped out of bed and rushed across the hallway to her bedroom. "Coming, Helen! What’s the matter"
