Auto industry that is regarded as one of the pillar industries of economy in a country has been influencing the whole national development.Since the reform and opening up,the auto industry, oriented towards the market, has made long-stride progress.
In the early days of planned economy, auto industry set up an auto industrial system and produced cargo vehicles principally. In recent years, in order to stimulate people’s consumption, spur the market and enlarge domestic demands, our country has impelled the development of Auto industry as one of the two pillar industries. Chinese auto industry has unfolded such features as great domestic market potentials, high degree of inter-relations with other industries and strong capability of fund accumulations.
Since stepping into market economy, both development of national economy and reform of economic system has made great achievements. However, there are some disadvantages existing as well, such as the trend of duplicated construction and blind launch of new projects.
But the deficiency has been controlled effectively along with the momentum of merger and acquisition being boosted. Because the structure of auto consumption market has changed significantly, and private purchase has increased, the focus of competition among auto manufacturers is being shifted to product grade, function, performance and quality.
The fact that China auto industry is playing a more important role in the whole national economy is incontrovertible. Although the prospect is optimistic, we have to bear in mind that there is a long way to go comparing with the world advanced level.
