The number of people killed in Sunday’s earthquake in northeastern Turkey has now risen to more than 1200 and is expected to go even higher, Rescue work is being held back (阻碍) by freezing temperature and rain. Two aircrafts of the International Red Cross have arrived in turkey with the emergency supplies ,and several countries have come and helped, including Japan and West Germany.
