Seniors and the City
Tens of thousands of retirees are
pulling up stakes in suburban areas and fashioning their own retirement
communities in the heart of the bustling city. They are looking for what most
older people want: a home with no stairs and low crime rates. And they are

One application
of the threshold method involves the time young children spend on academic
activities. Young children have short attention spans, so the length of time
they can sustain work on one activity is limited. Most activities are scheduled
to last no longer than 30 to 40 minutes. However, at the start of the school
year, attention spans quickly wane and behavior problems often result. To apply

Africa’s elephants are divided between
the savannahs of eastern and southern Africa and the forests of central Africa.
Some biologists reckon the forest ones-smaller, with shorter, straighter
