[简答题]Professional travelers are similar to business travelers in many ways, although this type of travel is more elastic than business travel. Professional travel is built around the meeting and convention markets. These markets have grown as transportation, especially by air, has become more available and affordable. As professional travel continues to grow, new and expanded meeting and convention facilities have been developed to satisfy this increasing demand. Along with this growth, new management challenges have arisen to serve this specialized market. Some of the key market segments for meeting participants or attendees are associations, businesses, exhibitions and trade shows, religious organizations, political parties, and governments.

Companies say it’s nice for business travelers to have a desk, fax machine and coffee maker in their hotel rooms. But don’t make them pay extra for it. An informal USA TODAT survey of 152 corporate-travel managers finds 68% would not pay a premium for so-called business-class rooms that hotel chains are creating to attract business travelers. The rooms typically are equipped with a large desk, better fighting, fax machine, data ports for laptops and other features that can turn a hotel room into a mini-office. Rates are often $ 20 higher than for regular rooms.
As companies work harder to trim travel budgets, many managers say the amenities aren’t worth the money.
"I think I travel as much as anyone in this company, but as far as what I need to do on the road is concerned, it isn’t worth another $ 30," says Mike Caravello, travel manager for American Family, an insurance company.

Heathrow’s move into "sensory" marketing is the latest in a long line of attempts by businesses to use sensory psychology — the scientific study of the effects of the senses on our behavior to help sell products. Marketing people call this "atmosphere" — using sounds or smells to manipulate consumer behavior. On Valentine’s Day two years ago the chain of chemist s 3uperdog scented one of its London shops with chocolate. The smell of chocolate is supposed to have the effect of reducing concentration and making customers relax. "Chocolate is associated with love", said a marketing sp
