Walk along the River Warnow, in northern Germany, and you may be lucky enough to spot a SeaFalcon, a sleek, white machine with two propellers, two wings and a distinctly unbirdlike tail. It looks like an aircraft. Which is what it is. Except, it isn’t. It is a ship—at least in the eyes of the International Marine Organisation, which regulates such things. That matters, because ships are much more lightly regulated than aircraft.
The SeaFalcon is really a ground-effect vehicle. It flies only over water and only two metres above that water. This means the air beneath its wings is compressed, giving it additional lift. In effect, it is floating on a cushion of air. That makes it far cheaper to run than a plane of equivalent size, while the fact that it is flying means it is far faster—at 80-100 knots—than a ship of any size. Its designer, Dieter Puls, thus hopes it will fill a niche for the rapid transport of people and light goods in parts of the world w

The Amazon River basin boasts the largest river system on Earth and harbors an ecosystem that is tremendously complex. Early travelers from renaissance Europe were overwhelmed by their first encounters. In 1531, Francisco Pizarro overthrew the Incan empire, removing the emperor from his throne and taking for Spain the Incan imperial treasures. A decade later his younger brother ventured east from the high plateau of the Andes Mountains in pursuit of the famous cities of gold and spices thought to be hidden in the jungle forest. Going down the river the expedition soon exhausted its supplies and a small group was sent ahead to search for food. Eight months later, this group emerged at the mouth of the Amazon, having made what would prove to be the first descent of the length of the river.

[简答题]Angelina ran a business in Gaborone, which specialised in producing computer software programmes. Refilwe and Basetsana both worked for Angelina for a period of three years. They were both described as self-employed and both paid tax as self-employed persons. Angelina provided all of their specialist computer equipment. Refilwe was required to work solely on the projects Angelina provided, and he had to attend at her premises every day from 9 am until 5 pm. Basetsana usually worked at home and was allowed to work on other projects. Basetsana could even arrange for her work for Angelina to be done by someone else if she was too busy to do it personally. When Angelina lost her most important contract, which Refilwe had been working on, she decided to relocate the business to be closer to her one remaining large contract in Francistown some 400 kilometres away. As a result she told Refilwe and Basetsana that there would be no more work for them. Required: Advise Refilwe and Basetsana
