索引的概念和索引表的类型定义
索引查找(Index Search)又称分级查找。它在日常生活中有广泛的应用。例如,要在《数据结构》一书中查找“二叉树”的内容,则先在目录中查找到对应章节的页码,然后再到该页码的正文中去查找相应内容;在这里整本书就是索引查找的对象,章节的正文是教材的主要内容,被称之为主表;目录是为了便于查找主表而建立的索引,被称之为索引表。索引表可以有多级。
